Amara Briony brings the force of an authentic, grounded and captivating performer. Although raised within an insular upstate environment, Amara comes from a rich upbringing of Black, Southern and Jamaican culture.
From the humble start of a school choir, NYSSMA adjudications, many national anthem renditions and high school theatre - Amara has had the privilege of performing in world renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall (2018) and the Sydney Opera House of Australia (2019) by the age of 18. During her graduating year of High school, Amara also studied at the Sage Colleges through the New Visions Arts program in Troy, NY.
Amara continued her studies at Nazareth University in Rochester, NY where she endured a triple threat program earning a BFA degree in Musical Theatre and many educational theatre credits. Since her college graduation earned credits within community and regional theatre while exploring the world of voiceover productions in her most recent role in “The Adventures of Kaden Jack”, starring as Bahati Nkunda.
Offstage, is a warm & compassionate spirit that spends her spare time in writing, photography and film editing for personal projects. Creating memories with family and loved ones, and nurturing young children as a caregiver is something that brings her great joy. Amara also spends her past time working and indulging within the world of beauty, connecting with nature, spirituality and meditation.
